Carl Rogers on relationships/counselling

“In my early professionals years I was asking the question: How can I treat, or cure, or change this person? Now I would phrase the question in this way: How can I provide a relationship which this person may use for his own personal growth?” ~Carl Rogers

Lee is training to be an art therapist and approaches his friendships from the point of view that he can help people. During the story we find out that Lee is very knowledgeable about Carl Rogers and talks to Chloe a lot about how his friends interact and how he can get everyone to communicate better. He needs to take care of himself as well, which is his greatest lesson to be learned in the book.
