Outlining & Organising~ the layout of the story

The main bulk of the story, ie 10 chapters, will be the story from the viewpoint of Casey and her hangups, desires, paranoia and judgements. It will involve all the characters, but only touching on each of them as is enough to explain what Casey is seeing.

In order to educate the reader about the main themes of the book, which are

  • communication & honesty
  • prejudices
  • judgement

they need to see that each character has his/her own issues going on inside them and that how they behave is not necessarily them as a person, but the result of what they are going through. Some of these issues will be secrets until the end of the story, and may well remain secrets until their individual stories are told at the end of the book, in smaller chapters named for them, ie Annabelle’s story and Lee’s story. They will be written in the form of diary entries.

This teaches them that in life, things are rarely how they seem and people deserve to be given a chance, despite first impressions. Find out about people before you judge them.

”Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle.” ~Plato

”When we are judging everything, we are learning nothing.” ~Steve Maraboli
